Key Responsibilities:
Oversee operational clinic work, including RN telephone
triage, RN procedures, and Apex In Basket management.
Manage clinic operational flow and ensure quality care,
patient safety, compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and
accepted practices across the continuum of care. Allocate environmental,
technical, and staffing resources. May also manage fiscal and administrative
operations.
Represent assigned clinics or centers on task forces or
committees. Participate in the development of new programs, review technology
improvements, design quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, etc.
Develop staff in collaborative decision-making and shared
governance to ensure a shared voice in clinical care practice, exchange of
ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved clinical and patient
care outcomes. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare
clinicians to develop healthcare policies, practice standards, and improve
services.
Manage patient care in a cost-effective manner, consistent
with the financial goals of the organization. Plan and be accountable for the
annual operating and capital budget for areas of responsibility. Determine
staffing needs and plans. Monitor performance of clinic or center services.
Coordinate activities with other clinics, centers, units, and/or departments
regarding patient care.
Responsible for employee recruitment, performance
evaluation, progressive discipline, and staff development. Develop a strong
culture of teamwork to ensure the quality of daily operations, effective
interdepartmental collaborations, and timely achievement.
Keep abreast of and implement new or changing patient care
standards of practice, scope of practice, competency development and
assessment, policies and procedures, and new programs in collaboration with the
Clinical Nurse Director. Collaborate with physicians and develop proposals for
improvements.
Collaborate and provide input on marketing, facilities, and
fiscal planning. Draft business plans to introduce quality improvements to
clinical service delivery in accordance with best practices.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
and/or licensure in relevant clinical specialty
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
At least five (5) years of clinical RN experience
At least two (2) years of managerial experience in an acute
care or outpatient setting
Strong clinic/center patient care management skills,
including practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service
methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and/or information
technology. Broad knowledge of the patient population served and the
requirements for service delivery.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and
collaborative decision-making
Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills,
with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and
staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented
climate of teamwork and collaboration.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements,
as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance
environments.
Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and
delegate work functions efficiently.
Skills and Certifications:
Minimum five years of clinical RN experience
Minimum two years of managerial experience in an acute
care/outpatient setting
Active CA RN license or licensure in relevant clinical
specialty
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
