Job Title: Surgical Technician
Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technician, you will assist surgical teams before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring the surgical team has everything they need to perform procedures efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Set up and prepare surgical instruments and equipment
2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide assistance as needed
5. Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures
6. Stock and maintain surgical supplies
7. Assist with patient positioning and draping
8. Provide support to patients before and after surgery
9. Document surgical procedures and keep accurate records
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High School diploma or GED
2. Completion of a Surgical Technology program
3. Certification as a Surgical Technician
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
6. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure
7. Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
8. Understanding of sterile techniques and infection control procedures
