Job Title: Registered Nurse - Obstetrics / Gynecology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics / Gynecology department. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to women throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. This individual will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for mothers and babies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide direct patient care to pregnant women, new mothers, and gynecological patients.
2. Monitor fetal development and maternal health during pregnancy.
3. Assist with labor and delivery, including coaching and supporting mothers during childbirth.
4. Educate patients on prenatal care, breastfeeding, and other women's health issues.
5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
6. Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records.
7. Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
8. Respond to emergencies, such as complications during labor or gynecological procedures.
9. Assist with postpartum care and provide emotional support to new mothers.
10. Stay current on medical advances and best practices in obstetrics and gynecology.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Certification in Obstetrics/Gynecology Nursing (ONC) is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
