Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the mental health needs of patients. You will work closely with individuals struggling with mental illnesses, behavioral issues, and emotional disorders to provide compassionate and effective care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of patients
2. Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings
3. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
5. Provide counseling and support to patients and families
6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
7. Educate patients on mental health issues and coping strategies
8. Document patient care and progress in medical records
9. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of nursing practice
10. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current in psychiatric nursing practices
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Certification in psychiatric nursing is a plus
4. Prior experience in psychiatric nursing strongly preferred
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment
8. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
