Radiology Specialist Assistant – Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Radiology Specialist Assistant to support radiologists in performing diagnostic imaging procedures and ensuring smooth workflow within the radiology department. The role involves assisting with imaging processes, patient care, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist radiologists and technicians during diagnostic imaging procedures (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound)
• Prepare patients for imaging exams and explain procedures
• Ensure proper positioning of patients for accurate imaging
• Maintain and operate radiology equipment under supervision
• Handle patient records, reports, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and radiation protection protocols
• Coordinate with healthcare staff for scheduling and patient management
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of radiology equipment and rooms

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Radiology / Medical Imaging / Healthcare Support
• Basic knowledge of radiology procedures and equipment
• Understanding of radiation safety protocols
• Strong communication and patient-handling skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a hospital or diagnostic center
• Certification in radiology assistance or medical imaging
• Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems
• Basic computer and documentation skills

Work Environment:

• Hospitals, diagnostic labs, imaging centers
• May involve standing for long periods and assisting patients physically
