Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. They must assess patients, administer medication, perform treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and triage patients in the emergency department
2. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
3. Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition
4. Document all patient care activities accurately and timely
5. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
6. Educate patients and families about treatment options and aftercare instructions
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness activities
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
6. Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment
7. Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
