Job title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients experiencing a medical emergency. You will assess patients, administer medications, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and advocate for the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess patients' conditions and prioritize care based on the severity of the emergency
2. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment
4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
5. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to provide comprehensive care
6. Educate patients and families on post-emergency care and treatment plans
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
8. Adhere to established protocols and policies to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards
9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and emerging technologies
10. Assist in emergency procedures, such as trauma resuscitation and code blue responses
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
