Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED) and Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) and Medical Surgical (Med Surg) units is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor patients' health status in the ED and Med Surg units.
2. Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and assisting with procedures.
3. Implement and coordinate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
4. Educate patients and their families on their conditions and treatment plans.
5. Ensure patients' safety and comfort throughout their hospital stay.
6. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
7. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Must have a valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency department and medical-surgical settings.
3. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
7. Proficiency in electronic health records and medical documentation.
8. Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
