Job Title: Registered Nurse - Unit/Geriatric Psychiatry Unit
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Unit/Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and comprehensive care to elderly patients with mental health disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct initial health assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide ongoing support to patients
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and resources
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices in psychiatric nursing
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing or geriatric care
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and under pressure
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
