Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Long Term Care (LTC) provides direct patient care to residents in a long-term care facility under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. CNAs assist with activities of daily living, personal care, and medical treatments to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
2. Serve meals and assist with feeding as needed.
3. Provide routine care such as changing bed linens and helping residents ambulate.
4. Monitor and report changes in residents' health status to nursing staff.
5. Assist with medical treatments and procedures as directed by licensed nurses.
6. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
7. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
8. Document care provided accurately and timely in residents' charts.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification.
3. Current CPR certification.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
6. Compassion and patience in working with elderly residents.
7. Physical ability to lift and move residents as needed.
