Job Title: Registered Nurse, Intensive Care (ICU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse, Intensive Care (ICU) is responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. They monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall condition
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results
4. Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
5. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
6. Educate patients and their families on the patient's condition and treatment plan
7. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
8. Document patient observations, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU nursing
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
