Job Title: Behavioral Psych Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Behavioral Psych Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care and support to patients with various behavioral and mental health disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans to help patients manage their condition and improve their overall well-being.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct assessments and screenings to evaluate patients' mental health status
- Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Administer medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
- Provide therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and group counseling
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing (PMH-BC) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
