Job Title: Charge Nurse (House Supervisor)
Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse (House Supervisor) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of a healthcare facility during their assigned shift. This includes supervising nursing staff, ensuring patient care standards are met, and handling any urgent situations that arise.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and direct nursing staff on the floor
2. Ensure patient care is delivered according to established protocols and standards
3. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
4. Handle any emergencies or urgent situations that arise
5. Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families
6. Assist with staffing and scheduling as needed
7. Collaborate with management to address any issues or concerns
8. Maintain accurate documentation and records
9. Provide support and guidance to nursing staff
10. Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care and facility operations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
