Job Title: Oncology Nurse (Chemotherapy)
Job Summary:
As an Oncology Nurse specializing in chemotherapy, you will be responsible for providing care and treatment to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. You will work closely with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer chemotherapy medications as prescribed by the oncologist
- Monitor patients for any signs of adverse reactions to chemotherapy
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Educate patients on the side effects of chemotherapy and how to manage them
- Collaborate with the oncology team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in oncology and chemotherapy treatment
- Participate in research and clinical trials related to chemotherapy treatment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Certification in oncology nursing preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in oncology nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations
- Compassionate and empathetic bedside manner
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures
