Job Title: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU)
Job Summary:
As a Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU), you will be responsible for providing care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. You will closely monitor patients' vital signs, assess their pain levels, and ensure a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia recovery process
2. Assess patients' pain levels and administer medications as needed
3. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families
4. Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure patient safety and comfort
5. Document patient care and communicate with other healthcare professionals as needed
6. Assist with post-operative care and discharge planning
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Prior experience in PACU or critical care setting
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
