Job Title: Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
As a Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment for patients with acute and chronic wounds. You will work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized wound care plans for each patient. Your primary goal will be to promote wound healing while preventing infection and ensuring patient comfort.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performing comprehensive assessments of wounds, including evaluating wound size, depth, and drainage
- Cleaning and dressing wounds using sterile techniques
- Monitoring and documenting wound healing progress
- Educating patients and their families on proper wound care techniques
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans as needed
- Utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines to provide optimal wound care
- Participating in wound care research and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Certification in wound care nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care or home health settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
- Knowledge of wound care products and advanced wound healing techniques
