Job Title: Medical Assistant (Pediatric Clinic)
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will provide support to pediatric healthcare providers in a clinic setting, assisting with patient care, administrative tasks, and ensuring a smooth workflow. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and families, as well as strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist pediatric healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
2. Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and other health information.
3. Administer vaccinations and medications as directed by healthcare providers.
4. Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
5. Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
6. Assist with scheduling appointments, processing medical records, and managing office supplies.
7. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment.
8. Follow all protocols and guidelines for infection control and patient safety.
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients.
10. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in healthcare practice.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a medical assistant training program or certification.
3. Previous experience working in a pediatric clinic preferred.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.
8. Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
9. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
10. CPR certification required.
