Job Title: Med Surg/CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Job Summary:
The Med Surg/CNA is responsible for providing basic nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the well-being of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature
- Assist with mobility needs, such as turning and repositioning patients
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices in nursing care
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Current CNA certification in the state of practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary
