Job Title: Registered Nurse - Opioid Treatment
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse for Opioid Treatment will provide specialized care and support to patients undergoing treatment for opioid addiction. This role involves administering medications, monitoring patients' progress, educating patients on addiction recovery, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create comprehensive treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medication-assisted treatment to patients with opioid use disorder
2. Monitor vital signs and assess patients for withdrawal symptoms
3. Educate patients on the risks and benefits of opioid treatment medications
4. Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
5. Provide counseling and support to patients and their families
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
7. Participate in training and professional development activities to stay current on best practices in opioid treatment
8. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to opioid treatment
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. Certification in addiction nursing or willingness to obtain certification
3. Experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
6. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in opioid addiction treatment
7. Compassion and empathy for patients struggling with addiction
