Job title: Dialysis Nurse
Job Summary:
The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment for kidney failure. This includes monitoring patients during treatment, administering medications, and educating patients on kidney disease management.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct pre-dialysis assessments and review patient medical history
2. Set up and operate dialysis machines according to prescription
3. Monitor patients during treatment and make necessary adjustments to treatment parameters
4. Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by a physician
5. Educate patients and their families on kidney disease, treatment options, and self-care techniques
6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients
7. Document patient care and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
8. Maintain a clean and safe dialysis environment
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program
2. Current RN license in the state of practice
3. Certification in nephrology nursing preferred
4. Minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis nursing
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
7. Knowledge of dialysis procedures and equipment
8. CPR certification
