Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse (CCU)
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) is responsible for providing rapid and effective nursing care to patients who are in critical condition. They must assess patients, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with the medical team to deliver the best possible care to patients in the emergency room setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and triage patients in the emergency room
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Monitor and record vital signs
4. Assist with procedures and tests as needed
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
6. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during stressful situations
7. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
8. Stay updated on current emergency room protocols and best practices
9. Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledge
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures for patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
2. Current RN license in the state of practice
3. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
4. Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting preferred
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress situations
7. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
9. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends
10. Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
