Job Summary:
As a Behavioral Psych RN, you will be responsible for providing care and support to patients with behavioral and mental health issues. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with psychiatric disorders. Your role will involve monitoring patients' progress, administering medications, developing treatment plans, and educating patients and their families about mental health conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing individualized care plans
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by a psychiatrist
- Monitoring and recording patients' mental health status
- Providing emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educating patients about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Participating in therapy sessions and group activities with patients
- Adhering to all healthcare regulations and protocols
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license and certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
