Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of patients before, during, and after surgery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients' pre-operative health status and developing individualized care plans
2. Assisting in the preparation of the operating room and equipment
3. Monitoring patients during surgery and providing immediate post-operative care
4. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
5. Educating patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery
6. Collaborating with other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
7. Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
8. Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and safety
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certifications
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room nursing
4. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
6. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
7. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
8. Knowledge of surgical procedures and best practices in perioperative care
