Job Title: Critical Care Registered Nurse
Job Summary:
The Critical Care RN provides specialized care for patients in critical condition, such as those in the intensive care unit (ICU) or emergency department. They are responsible for closely monitoring patients, managing life support equipment, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide optimal patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and monitoring patients' vital signs and responses to treatment
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Operating and monitoring life support equipment, such as ventilators and cardiac monitors
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Educating patients and their families on condition management and post-discharge care
- Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care or emergency nursing
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
