Job Title: RN Critical Care (CCU)
Job Summary: The RN Critical Care (CCU) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Critical Care Unit (CCU). They must have a strong understanding of advanced medical procedures, medications, and technologies to monitor and treat patients in critical condition. The RN Critical Care (CCU) plays a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall health status
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
4. Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment
5. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
6. Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate intervention
7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
8. Follow hospital protocols and standards of care
9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Previous experience in a critical care setting
4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
8. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
9. Attention to detail and ability to multitask
10. Ability to remain calm under pressure
11. Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
12. Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends
13. Physical stamina and endurance
14. Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism
