Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU RN)
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU RN) provides specialized nursing care for patients in critical condition, particularly those in the intensive care unit and coronary care unit. They are responsible for closely monitoring patients, administering medications, implementing treatment plans, and coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and condition
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Operate and monitor medical equipment
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
- Participate in emergency response and code blue situations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in intensive care or coronary care unit
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
