Job Title: Obstetrics Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
As an Obstetrics Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing care to pregnant women and their unborn babies before, during, and after childbirth. You will work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the progress of labor and assess the condition of the mother and baby
- Administer medications as prescribed by the obstetrician
- Educate new parents on newborn care and breastfeeding techniques
- Assist with labor and delivery, including providing emotional support to the mother
- Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rate during labor
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document all patient interactions and update medical records accordingly
- Provide postpartum care and support to new mothers and babies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Certification in obstetrics nursing (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
