Job Title: Intensive Care/Coronary Nurse (ICU)
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care/Coronary Nurse (ICU) provides specialized nursing care for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit or coronary care unit. They monitor patients, administer medications, and collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill patients in the ICU/CCU.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Implement and monitor ventilator support for patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
5. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
6. Assist with emergency procedures and interventions as needed.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing.
4. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
7. Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
