Job title: Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care (CNA LTC)
Job Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant in Long Term Care provides direct patient care and support to residents in a long-term care facility. They assist residents with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, provide emotional support, and communicate with healthcare team members.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with bathing, grooming, and toileting
2. Help residents with eating and drinking, including meal preparation and feeding assistance
3. Provide basic medical care, such as taking vital signs and assisting with medication administration
4. Monitor residents for changes in health status and report to healthcare team
5. Offer emotional support and companionship to residents
6. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
7. Document and chart patient care activities accurately
8. Follow care plans as directed by registered nurses or physicians
9. Assist with rehabilitation exercises and therapy programs
10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for residents
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active CNA certification
2. High school diploma or GED
3. CPR certification
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Compassionate and patient demeanor
7. Ability to lift and move heavy objects or patients
8. Basic medical knowledge and understanding of patient care protocols
9. Excellent organizational and time-management skills
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
