Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized nursing care to patients who require intermediate levels of monitoring and care. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the PCU setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor patients' vital signs and perform physical assessments
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions and treatments
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Respond to emergencies and provide urgent care as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a PCU or ICU setting
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
