Job title: Sleep Technologist - Polysomnographer
Job Summary:
As a Sleep Technologist - Polysomnographer, you will be responsible for conducting overnight sleep studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. You will work closely with patients to monitor their sleep patterns, collect data, and analyze results to help healthcare providers make informed decisions about treatment options.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Set up and calibrate sleep study equipment
2. Apply electrodes and sensors on patients to monitor brain activity, eye movement, muscle tone, and other parameters
3. Monitor patients during sleep studies and adjust equipment as needed
4. Collect and analyze data from sleep studies to generate reports for healthcare providers
5. Educate patients on sleep hygiene and assist with treatment options
6. Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of patient information
7. Stay up-to-date on new technology and treatment options in sleep medicine
8. Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent is required
2. Experience working in a sleep lab or healthcare setting preferred
3. Knowledge of sleep disorders, diagnostic tests, and treatment options
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
7. Flexibility to work overnight shifts and weekends as needed
