Job Title: Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health Float
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Float team. As a Float Nurse, you will provide care and support to patients with mental health and substance abuse issues in various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community resources. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and provide therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health and substance abuse histories
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to develop and implement treatment plans
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Educate patients and families on mental health issues, coping strategies, and resources
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in behavioral health settings
- BLS certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatments, and medications
