Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse, Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Charge Nurse in a Long Term Care facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff, managing patient care, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to residents. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans, administer medication, and provide direct patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of nursing staff.
2. Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
4. Provide direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living.
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development programs.
9. Handle emergencies and crisis situations effectively.
10. Promote a positive work environment and team collaboration.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in long term care or related setting.
3. BLS certification.
4. Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards.
8. Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
9. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills.
