Job title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care facility, you will be responsible for providing basic care to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor residents' conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the overall well-being of residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Take vital signs and record observations
- Help residents with mobility and positioning
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in residents' conditions to the nurse
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Assist with physical therapy exercises as needed
- Participate in resident care meetings and contribute to care planning
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a long term care setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Understanding of infection control procedures
- Ability to lift and move residents with assistance as needed
