Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in emergency situations. They must assess patients, administer medication, perform emergency procedures, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients in critical conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and triage patients upon arrival to the emergency room
2. Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by medical staff
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and condition
4. Assist doctors in performing emergency procedures
5. Communicate with patients and their families about treatment plans and progress
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
7. Document patient interactions and treatments in medical records
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
9. Participate in training and continuing education to stay current on best practices
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. BSN or higher degree in nursing
3. Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to remain calm under pressure
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment
8. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
