Job Description

Job Title: Lab Manager

Job Summary:

The Lab Manager will oversee daily operations of the laboratory, including managing staff, maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting research projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Manage and supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

2. Develop and implement lab protocols and procedures to ensure efficient operation.

3. Coordinate the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.

4. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and monitor lab activities for adherence to protocols.

5. Support research projects by coordinating resources, managing budgets, and conducting data analysis.

6. Manage inventory of supplies and reagents, and order as needed.

7. Collaborate with researchers, faculty, and external partners to support research goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, Master's degree preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

3. Strong leadership and communication skills.

4. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety regulations, and quality control standards.

5. Experience with data analysis and research project management.

6. Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory software applications.
