Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, monitor, and manage the care of patients in the ICU. Your role will be vital in ensuring the well-being and recovery of patients in critical condition.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill patients in the ICU
2. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers
3. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
4. Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment used in the ICU
5. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
7. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in critical care nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) is a plus
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
7. Knowledge of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS) protocols
