Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health RN
Job Summary:
As a Behavioral Health RN, you will be responsible for providing care and support to patients with behavioral health conditions. Your role will involve assessing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, administering medications, and providing support to patients and their families. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible care for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct assessments of patients with behavioral health conditions
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress
5. Provide education and support to patients and their families
6. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
7. Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
8. Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
9. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
10. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) a plus
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing
5. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
8. Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatments
9. Basic computer skills
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
