Job Title: Nursing Manager / Director – Operating Room (OR Manager)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Manager/Director (Operating Room) to lead perioperative nursing operations, ensure high-quality surgical patient care, and manage OR staff, scheduling, compliance, and performance. This role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory adherence across the surgical services department.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily operations of the Operating Room / Perioperative Services

Supervise OR nursing staff (RNs, surgical techs, support staff) including staffing and scheduling

Ensure compliance with AORN standards, Joint Commission, and hospital policies

Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and sterile technique standards

Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, SPD, PACU, and leadership for smooth surgical workflow

Manage OR case flow, turnover times, equipment readiness, and supply utilization

Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives

Conduct performance evaluations, staff training, coaching, and competency validation

Support budget management, vendor coordination, and cost control

Oversee incident reporting, risk management, and corrective action plans

Monitor KPIs: case delays, cancellations, patient outcomes, staff productivity, and satisfaction

Participate in leadership meetings, accreditation surveys, and departmental planning
Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)

Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) required (MSN preferred)

5+ years of Operating Room / Perioperative nursing experience

2+ years of OR leadership/management experience

Strong knowledge of surgical services workflow, sterile processing, and OR safety standards
Preferred Qualifications

CNOR certification strongly preferred

Experience in multi-specialty OR environments

Familiarity with EMR/OR systems (Epic OpTime, Cerner, etc.)

Budgeting, staffing models, and process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) experience
