Job Description

Job Title: Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) Adult Nurse

Job Summary:
The Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) Adult Nurse provides direct patient care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and post-surgical needs. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, monitor, and document adult patient conditions
Administer medications and IV therapies
Provide pre- and post-operative care
Monitor vital signs and respond to emergencies
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
Coordinate with physicians and healthcare teams
Maintain accurate EMR documentation
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards

Required Qualifications:

Active RN license (State Registered Nurse)
BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
1–2+ years of Med-Surg or acute care experience
Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and patient care abilities

Preferred Skills:

Experience with adult acute care patients
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
Ability to handle high patient volume
