Position Title: Endoscopy Nurse (Endoscopy RN)

Job Summary:
The Endoscopy Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. The RN ensures patient safety before, during, and after procedures while supporting physicians and maintaining clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, etc.)
Conduct pre-procedure assessments and obtain informed consent
Administer and monitor moderate sedation as per protocol
Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Monitor vital signs and patient condition throughout the procedure
Provide post-procedure care and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
Ensure proper sterilization and handling of endoscopic equipment

Required Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS and ACLS certification (preferred)
Experience in endoscopy or gastroenterology nursing preferred
Strong patient monitoring and assessment skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of GI procedures and equipment
Sedation and recovery room experience
Infection control practices
Ability to respond effectively to emergencies
