The Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Orthopedics is responsible for overseeing patient care activities within the orthopedic department. This role ensures high-quality clinical outcomes, coordinates care plans, supports surgical and post-operative patients, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and patient-centered care.
Coordinate and supervise daily nursing activities in the orthopedic unit
Provide direct patient care for orthopedic cases (fractures, joint replacements, trauma)
Monitor patient progress pre- and post-surgery
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and healthcare teams
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies
Educate patients and families on recovery, rehabilitation, and medication
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Train and mentor junior nursing staff
Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) or equivalent
Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certification in Orthopedic Nursing (preferred)
3–6 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in orthopedics
Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures and patient care
Leadership and team coordination
Patient assessment and critical thinking
Communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Ability to handle emergency and trauma cases
Hospital orthopedic unit / surgical ward
Fast-paced and patient-focused environment
May require rotational shifts and on-call duties
Experience in joint replacement programs
Exposure to rehabilitation and physiotherapy coordination
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
