Job Title: Obstetrics Nurse Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Obstetrics Nurse Manager to oversee the nursing staff in our obstetrics department and ensure exceptional patient care. The Obstetrics Nurse Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations, implementing policies and procedures, and leading a team of nurses to provide quality care to expectant mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and provide guidance to obstetrics nursing staff
2. Develop and implement best practices for obstetrics care
3. Monitor patient care and ensure adherence to healthcare protocols
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
5. Assist with patient consultations, assessments, and procedures
6. Evaluate nursing staff performance and provide feedback for improvement
7. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of information
8. Participate in staff training and development programs
9. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines
10. Oversee scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage
11. Handle patient complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
12. Stay current on advancements in obstetrics nursing practices
13. Collaborate with other department managers to improve overall patient care
14. Assist with budget planning and resource allocation
15. Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree preferred
2. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in obstetrics nursing
4. Prior experience in a leadership or management role preferred
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
8. Knowledge of obstetrics best practices and evidence-based care
9. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
10. CPR certification required
11. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
12. Strong organizational and time management skills
