Job Title: Surgery Nurse Manager, Open Heart Surgery, Operating Room
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Surgery Nurse Manager to oversee our Open Heart Surgery Operating Room department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of patient care, staffing, and operations within the surgical unit.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate and oversee all nursing staff within the Open Heart Surgery Operating Room
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care protocols and procedures
- Monitor patient outcomes and adapt care plans as necessary
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Provide leadership and support to nursing staff, including mentoring and training
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines
- Manage staffing schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage
- Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff as needed
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment within the surgical unit
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surgical nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of current surgical practices and procedures
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
