Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)
Job Summary:
As a CNA/GNA, you will provide direct patient care and support services to elderly or disabled individuals in various healthcare settings. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to help patients with daily tasks, monitor their vital signs, and provide emotional support.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Take and record patients' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate.
3. Help patients with mobility, including transferring them in and out of beds or wheelchairs.
4. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
5. Assist with meal preparation and feeding for patients who require help.
6. Keep patient rooms clean and organized.
7. Follow care plans and report any changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff.
8. Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their rights.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Completion of an accredited CNA/GNA training program.
3. Active CNA/GNA certification in the state of employment.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work well in a team environment.
6. Compassionate and patient demeanor.
7. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients.
8. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
