Job title: Registered Nurse First Assistant
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is responsible for providing advanced nursing care in the operating room and assisting the surgeon during surgical procedures. The RNFA works closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures by providing advanced nursing care
- Act as a patient advocate and provide emotional support to patients before, during, and after surgery
- Monitor the patient's condition throughout the surgical procedure and communicate any changes to the surgical team
- Assist with wound closure and apply dressings as directed by the surgeon
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes
- Maintain a sterile field in the operating room and adhere to infection control policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be a registered nurse with a valid RN license
- Completion of a RNFA program and certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the operating room
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
