Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Float
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Float team. This position will require the nurse to provide care to patients across various medical surgical units, ensuring the highest level of care and patient outcomes. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, administering medications, collaborating with healthcare team members, and providing education to patients and families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide direct patient care in various medical surgical units
2. Assess patient conditions and implement appropriate nursing interventions
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
4. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients
5. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies
6. Document patient assessments, care provided, and outcomes in electronic health record system
7. Monitor patients' progress and adjust care plans as needed
8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families during challenging times
9. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and satisfaction
10. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical surgical nursing
4. BLS and ACLS certification
5. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Knowledge of electronic health record systems
9. Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends
10. Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient care
