Job title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients who are stable but require monitoring and intervention to prevent further complications. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the PCU setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, noting any changes or deterioration
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on care strategies and disease management
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Knowledge of PCU nursing principles and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
