Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will be responsible for providing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of patients throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare patients for surgery by completing pre-operative assessments and providing education about the procedure
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by maintaining sterile technique, passing instruments, and monitoring patient vital signs
- Monitor patients post-operatively and provide necessary interventions to promote recovery
- Document patient assessments, care provided, and outcomes in medical records
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to nursing practice
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Prior experience in an operating room setting
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
