Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab is responsible for assisting physicians during various cardiac procedures, focusing on providing quality patient care before, during, and after the procedures. This role requires critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist cardiologists during cardiac procedures in the Cath Lab.
2. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to assess their condition.
3. Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
4. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding cardiac procedures and recovery.
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab.
3. BLS and ACLS certification.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
6. Knowledge of cardiac procedures and equipment used in the Cath Lab.
7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
